Dredd 3D helmet build – part 1: Pepakura

After the failure of my last attempt at this build…

I’m finally jumping back on the horse.

First things first, I have to say “thank you” to Bill Doran (@chinbeard) from Punished Props, for recommending super glue instead of hot glue for Pepakura. Super glue doesn’t add as much bulk to the joints and sets a little slower giving a few extra seconds working time.

Though it does build up on your fingers after a couple of hours.

The shape is coming together now. This is the part where I get so wrapped up in finishing that I forget to take photos .

Viola!

As you can see, I finished it.

There is a small issue with one of the cheeks pulling to the side, but I think that I should be able to fix that in the resin stage.

Now it’s time for resin, fibreglass and Bondo!
